Experimenting is pure play and discovery to me. Wandering, listening and observing are all part of my practice, which leads to experimentation. To continually evolve in my art, experimenting is key to discover how things work, and equally important to discover things that may not work. Letting go and entering this phase of play is where I grow as an artist.  Practice is important to increase my skill and technical knowledge which I do regularly, but play is where I grow the most -trying, failing and trying again.

To discover and find my way, I believe it’s important to let go and experiment in order to move forward and grow as an artist.

"You will have to experiment and try things out for yourself and you will not be sure of what you are doing.

That's all right, you are feeling your way into the thing."

Emily Carr
